The second part of comic cartoon “Young Lovercraft” in “Saló del Còmic de Barcelona”
Ibiza Culture blog – the 27th edition of the “Saló del Còmic de Barcelona” took place from 29th May to 1st June and could count with the participations from Balearic islands and Ibiza.
This exhibition of vocation with an international participation on this occasion could count with famous authors from whole the world such as Belgium, the United States of America, Italy, France, Kongo and South Korea. The famous authors share posters with our one.
Last month we already informed you on this culture blog about “El joven Lovecraft,” (“Young Lovercraft”) a comic cartoon that is supposed to be published on internet every week. The first edition has been published already in the 4th edition. The cartoon’s authors are Bartolo Torres, born in Ibiza and José Oliver from Palma de Mallorca.
“El joven Lovecraft” narrates in a humoristic way the first years of life of Howard Phillips Lovecraft, author of horrors from the United States.
Howard Phillips Lovecraft was born in 1890 and his literary work oscillates between horror and science-fiction. This writer has known how to form a school, especially regarding to the “Cthulhu myth.” He impressed a lot of contemporary authors such as Stephen King, Bentley Little and Joe R. Lansdale.
In this comic you can find some Lovercraft`s biographic topics and some hypothesis about the development of his literary work such as a conception of the creatures appeared in “Cthulhu myth.”
The comic is supposed to be published every Monday on Internet and nowadays the first volume “Young Lovercraft” (El joven Lovecraft: Editorial Diábolo, 104 coloured pages 14.95 euros) is being sold. It contains some unpublished documents and some documents done by invited authors such as Cels Piñol, Sergio Bleda, Guillem March etc.
