The Arrasate town starts its Udazabal with a Ibiza’s group of dancers “Brisas de Portmany”.

Later people converted the name using it for a created figure of Herensuge, a dragon that lived in the mountain of Santa Barbara and terrified habitants of Arrasate till he was overwhelmed. Once has been explained that, we understand better this important town of Basque country has chosen as the first performance the Ibiza`s group of dancers “Brisas de Portmany” that shares the interest with a local group of dancers Lore Gazteak.
The celebration of a summer cultural programme Udazabal starts tomorrow with a performance by “Brisas de Portmany” and a local dancers group Lore Gazteak.
The Brisas de Portmanym, group of Ibiza’s folklore was established in 1990 and its aim is to represent traditions, dances and costumes related to Ibiza’s folklore. The group Lore Gazteak of Basque dancers is supposed to visit Ibiza in July.
This year’s edition of Udazabal has more international focus. It counts with a budget of 70.000€ and the programme is planned till September 11th.
