Margarita Balmaceda presents “Dolls collection
The exhibition of the paintings` collection by a Chilean painter Margarita Balmaceda who lives in Barcelona has been inaugurated in her gallery situated on the 5th Km.
The exhibition is supposed to be open for public till 6th July and contains 18 paintings which are inspired by dolls from the 50th till the Barbie dolls` era. The collection has been finished in recent months.
The declared inspiration by the dolls is expressed in the concept of the toys and for the artist signify a representation of masks that are used by human beings in a common life.
The exhibition reflects exclusively a female world of searching for the sensuality. The dolls reflect women’s behaviour.
Margarita Balmaceda focuses her creative energy fundamentally on painting but she has experimented with other arts as well. She usually uses the oil on canvas painting technique.
